Question What will give this Jetta a competitive edge?

Looking into what's to come for this generation Jetta, at the very core of it is a switch to VW's modular MQB platform. What that means is a slightly bigger Jetta. That can give it a competitive edge but at the same time its not enough motivation for the average owner to consider it over what rival brands have to offer.

What do you guys know or what in this new Jetta generation that will give it an edge?

Can't really use the MQB platform's size as an incentive to purchase the Jetta, bodies mounted on it can range from a Land Rover Discovery to future Beetle.

Maybe a 2.0-litre turbo charged engine will give it an edge depending on its tune, and of course how the front facia actually looks.

I don't think that MQB platform is going to change anything in the in the way of competitive edge. I agree with Moredoor, the engine can definitely make a difference, though I'm not a marketing analytic.
