None of those are in my area, so I guess I wont be getting the chance for a test drive. Looks like a lot of the focus for this event is the infotainment/sound system in the new Jetta anyways. Not sure why they would waste money promoting that.

They are definitely transitioning the new Jetta towards younger drivers, and these are the kinds of features that are important to them. It looks like the main attraction of the events was a “Betta Lab” which was an art experience, inspired by the Jetta’s available 10-color ambient lighting and available premium BeatsAudio sound.

Would have been nice if the festivals takes place all over North America because not all of their buyers are limited to those states. Guess they forgot all about Canada.
VW needs to be more appealing to the masses or inform them about that their cars like the Jetta has to offer or risk losing to Japanese or Korean brands.

If companies were run like that they would go broke. It only makes sense to target where they have the greatest concentration of owners rather than smaller communities. If they plan on producing content from these events then its even more of a reason to target those groups over others.

It is a little odd that they skipped out on Canada altogether, because I know the Jetta sells incredible well there. But these events seem to be less focused on the performance of the new Jetta and more about its tech and features. Really just another way to go about advertising through social media platforms.

Perhaps not in every city, but to leave out an entire country is a bit odd to me. Signals that they've given up on a certain market when it comes to small cars.
But then again, I'm not a seasoned marketing specialist, so there's probably some reason behind this.

I guess they might have more hope in a product like the T-Roc to scoop up that market share. Hard to discount it when people are moving away from sedans and coupes and into CUV's and SUV's. I see it as the poor mans Mercedes GLA.

Well the T-Roc is exclusive to the UK, so that's not going to be of much help to North American consumers. And that was a pretty disappointing announcement as that new model looks pretty good. I know VW has said that they'll be offering a different, larger model for NA.

Whatever they come out with needs to have enough character going on, similar to what we can find in products like the Kia Soul, Toyota FJ, Jeep Wrangler and so on. As long as they do that this VW SUV will be a success... oh yeah and some Audi DNA mixed in.
